At Plantations Nicholas, we believe everyone deserves the magic of a fresh Christmas tree. Our Lower Grade trees are the perfect solution for those who prioritize freshness and scent over "picture-perfect" symmetry.
Why choose a Lower Grade tree?
- Guaranteed Freshness: These trees are harvested, handled, and trimmed with the same care as our premium stock.
- Natural Charm: These trees didn't quite pass our strict "Premium Grade" quality control. You may find a slight gap in the branches, a unique curve, or a minor lack of density on one side.
- Unbeatable Value: Enjoy the look and smell of a real tree at a fraction of the cost.

To maximize the lifespan and freshness of a christmas tree, proper care is essential.
1. Fresh Cut on the Trunk
Before placing the tree in its stand, cut ½ – 1 inch off the base to reopen the resin‑sealed vascular system.
2. Hydration Is Critical
- Use a stand with 1 gallon (4 L) or more water capacity.
- Fill immediately after cutting.
- Maintain the water level above the cut at all times. Never let it run dry.
Christmas trees, especially freshly cut ones, will drink heavily in the first several days.
3. Placement in the Home
- Keep the tree away from heat vents, fireplaces, radiators, and sunny windows.
- Humidifiers can significantly improve needle retention.
4. Additives Not Required
Plain water is the most effective choice—no additives necessary.
